Belt and pulley failure

Premature failure of belts can be a function of a number of issues, including dirty operating conditions, dimensional or surface finish defects in the pulleys, poorly matched belt sets or belt-pulley combinations, inconsistent tensioning, excessive wear, or indeed poor quality belts. Failures can also be a result of poorly aligned pulleys or poorly manufactured or assembled pulleys.
