FINITE ELEMENT ANALYSIS (FEA)

Using advanced Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) technology to model your equipment in order to optimise a new design or to assess an existing design for fatigue life, strength or failure likelihood.  Analysis is also used to check a new or existing design proposal in accordance with Australian or international standards as part of a third party audit or design verification.

FIELD TEST AND MEASUREMENT

Where loading of your equipment is complex or unknown, test measurement of stress, displacement or acceleration can provide invaluable insight for analysis.  Furthermore, vibration measurements can provide valuable advice on whether equipment is operating correctly in its specific environment. Excessive vibration will likely lead to ultimate failure of the equipment or supporting structure.

FORENSIC INVESTIGATION

For insurance or legal purposes, expert witness assessment of the condition of equipment or structures that have prematurely failed is a valuable service that can often provide financial savings ten-fold.  At an entry level, equipment will be visually inspected to establish the root-cause of failure.  Sometimes, further investigations may be necessary that include metallurgical examination or computer simulations.
